My name is Erica Avila, I graduated from the University of Texas Pan American in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. In 2004, I decided to pursue a nursing career and was awarded an Associate Degree in Nursing from South Texas College in 2006.

 

I worked for nine years as a Registered Nurse, four of which I specialized in Psychiatric Nursing and worked at an Inpatient Behavioral Hospital. In 2015, I graduated magna cum laude from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and was accepted into the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. In 2018, I earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Midwestern State University and am now board certified to practice in the state of Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in Psychiatry.
